Wooden boat and Hong Kong:
The “Coral Sea”, a wooden ferry with old fishing ship appearance, has been serving since the 1980s. It is not only provide ferry service; it carries history.
Hong Kong is inseparable from the sea. Since 1841 Hong Kong became a free port and opened for trading, ships never stop sailing. Major foreign firms and ferry companies fought to build dockyards to development the land. Taikoo dockyard was established in 1883, its ship building technology and its production quality ship were once the best of Far East until the dockyards closed down, from building a small wooden sampan to a big iron ferry.
Although the dockyards have been declined, the craftsmanship became a spirit of Hong Kong. As a part of the shipping world of Hong Kong, we do our work with the craftsmanship, work with serious and sincere attitude. Today, we have 4 wooden ferries well equipped with safety equipment for the passenger’s safety. Therefore, even land transportation has been perfecting nowadays, Coral Sea Ferry Service will never stop working to maintain the traditions and provide another choice for citizens and visitors’ travelling.
